# Embracing the 5 Fs Philosophy: Whole Life Fitness Manifesto for a Balanced and Enriched Life

The five Fs behind the whole approach: fitness, family, faith, finances and fun. I walk through why looking at only one of them is what keeps men stuck, and how a balanced life is what actually holds a training habit in place once motivation runs out.

Hello, hello, my fantastic listeners, welcome back to the 2% solution, where we're all about making small changes for huge impact. I'm Diamond Well, your guide on this journey to a more fulfilling, joyful and happy life. Today, we're diving deep into something that's close to my heart the whole life fitness manifestos, 5s philosophy. Now, trust me, this isn't your average fitness talk. We're going beyond the gym and into the realm of holistic well-being.

Now you might be thinking what in the world are the 5S? Well, fasten your seat belts because we're about to explore fitness, family, faith, finances and fun, which are the five pillars that can balance and enrich your life in ways you've never imagined. Many years ago, I wrote a book called the Whole Life Fitness Manifesto. It was a 28-day lifestyle program that teaches people how to leverage 2% of every 24 hours that's 30 minutes to maximize the impact and shifts in physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. It's a very simple process, easy to get started, simple to maintain and the coolest part is I've never had anybody at the thousands and thousands of people that have done the program ever reach out to me and say that they didn't experience a dramatic shift in some part of their holistic well-being within as short as 28 days.

It's simple. Right, we're talking about 30 minutes each and every day. But here's the challenge when it comes to directing ourselves through our lives, we have to understand that we have underlying belief systems that often help us navigate our autopilot. What I mean by that is subconsciously, we are making decisions all the time, whether we're aware of it or not. Have you ever found yourself accidentally snacking without even recognizing that you're snacking?

Maybe it's grabbing. There's that bowl of nuts sitting on the table and you just reach in for a handful and throw them in your mouth without even thinking or asking yourself hey, am I even hungry? Do I even need that? Because sometimes we just do things automatically and some of these automatic beliefs or our processes that are running in the background right little programs in our brain they can actually be drawing us backwards, holding us back, causing us to regress, especially when we're making big advancements. I usually find the biggest issue for this is lack of clarity and lack of confidence.

Clarity when we have it, we feel more confident, and when we feel more confident, we take more decisive action. And the cool part is, when we take more actions and we start to experience better results, we start to again feel more confident, which in turn, will also start to create more clarity, and so, again, we see a way to add and flow between these three areas. But I've always had people come up to me me myself, I'm included in this lot. Just, I had to work through this many, many years ago, 15 years ago now. How do we direct ourselves in our lives, this underlying subconscious piece of who we are?

How do we tune into that? How do we start to change or shift some of those beliefs to be more serving for what we want out of our lives professionally and personally? Well, we're going to get into the neuroscience in a later episode, but, for the sake of the 5s, the whole life fitness manifest was all about giving somebody something simple, and simple doesn't always mean easy, but if you have 30 minutes a day and I've room to put a towel on the floor, you've got no excuse. Okay, you can make this happen. And, fyi, if there's people out there thinking, oh gosh, 30 minutes a day, well, pick up that smartphone, go to the screen time.

Right, most of them have that function now. They'll measure your screen time and tell you how much time you spent just on your phone screen on every 24 hour day, I'm guarantee you majority of people I'd say 99. 9% of people are going to notice that, wow, I've got some time. I can definitely reclaim for my health, and this isn't meant to be shaming or making you feel bad, but more so to help you build awareness around some of these subconscious habits that might also be holding us back from making some of the positive changes. Now, with our belief systems, there's another component called values.

Values are the things that really steer the ship in very decisive directions. So what do I mean by that? Well, when we're clear on our values, like really, really know, like they're non-negotiable meaning that there are certain beliefs here that are so hardwired, so foundational in how you've become who you are today, you know through and through, right down to your DNA. Well, those are unshakable, they are your guiding principles. But a lot of us don't take the time to really sit with ourselves and ask ourselves what are my values?

Well, I'm excited to plant a little seed. I've got wonderful Tara Robertson going to be joining us on one of our episodes and she is going to be taking us through some very specific exercises to help us identify our core values. But in the meantime, I'll share with you sort of what my values were and the values that I shared with people, because I believe these do in capture a lot of our values for those that are looking to improve certain areas of their life Fitness as an example. You know like these are the ideas of the 5S. Once you've got these values in place, it's going to allow you to be more decisive and say yes or no to things more quickly.

Think about them as filters, but they're also conduits to seeing change. So let's talk about fitness first. You know I'm not talking about lifts and weights or running marathons, for that point, though if that's your jam, I mean more power to you. I mean that's correct, right. But fitness here, the way I'm referring to it, is about finding activities that keep your body moving and grooving.

It's all about feeling alive and energized, not just fit. Remember, a little bit can go a long way. A 2% daily effort can transform your physical health tremendously, and it doesn't happen immediately, but it will happen fairly quickly. Next is family. This isn't just about spending time with your loved ones, though that's super important.

It's about quality interactions, whether it's family dinner without phones, a weekend hike, maybe just a good old fashioned board game night. It's about creating memories, connection and strengthening bonds. Moving on to faith now. This can mean different things to different people. It could be spiritually, maybe it's meditation, maybe it's simply spending time in nature.

It's about connecting with something greater than yourself, finding inner peace and centering your soul. Even just a few moments of reflection daily can be incredibly powerful. On to finances Now. I can hear you groanin', but hear me out. It's not just about making money.

It's about managing it wisely and making it work for you. It's about financial health and freedom. Even small steps like setting a budget or learning about investments are steps in the right direction. Last, but definitely not least, is fun. Yeah, you heard her right.

Fun is an essential part of life. It's about doing things that bring you joy and laughter. Life's too short not to have fun, so make sure you're carving out time for hobbies, adventures or just silly moments. These 5S, this 5F philosophy, if you will, is about creating a balance, fulfilling life. And guess what?

You don't have to overhaul your life overnight. It's about those small, consistent 2% changes that lead to massive transformation. I hope you're leaving today's episode feeling somewhat more inspired to look at these aspects of your life a little differently. Remember, it's not about perfection. It's about progress, one step, one day, one, 2% at a time.

Thanks for tuning in and keep pushing for that 2% improvement in all areas of your life. Catch you next time on the 2% solution, where small steps lead to big changes. And before I go, because I'd be remiss if I didn't at least mention in future episodes we're going to go deeper on this concept of the 5S, because even though I've shared the 5S with you today, I realize that those may not be the same values that you have. But I want to encourage you and support you in figuring out what are your five core values, because when you have that watch out, clarity creates greater confidence. Take more action, procrastinate less, and that's where the magic truly happens.

That's where the change happens. That's where you feel that pride and that excitement and belief in yourself that, wow, change wasn't even possible a moment ago, but now it's more than possible. It's happening because I choose for it to happen. With that, if you found any value in today's episode, please like, share, subscribe. I love a five star review as I'm just getting started on this podcast journey and your comments and support really mean the world to me.
