Hello and welcome relationship architects, emotional intelligence enthusiasts, to another Motivational Monday on the 2% Solution Podcast I'm, your navigator in the journey of relationships and communication. Today we're honing in on the power of words in relationships, focusing on four pivotal phrases. And guess what Science backs up their impact. So let's dive into how these phrases are not just words but tools for building stronger, more connected relationships and full disclosure. These are phrases that after over 20 years and you know I'll say with some challenges, of course there's ups and downs but with over 20 years I've been in a thriving relationship with my beautiful wife and partner in crime and just really my best friend Christie, I got to say these are phrases that have helped help the ton, but not only my relationships with my wife, romantically speaking, but also just when it comes down to being respectful with other human beings.

These are phrases that show a certain level of vulnerability. You know how I feel about vulnerability. It's a skill and all of us can tap into that and learn it and get better at it. But not just everybody deserves a vulnerability. It's earned, it's a trust right, a huge amount of trust that it takes to be open and transparent and authentic with people.

And so these four phrases, I think as I share them today, think about how they show up in your life, think about how maybe this heading into this week you could intentionally use these phrases a little bit more because, trust me, these phrases bring people closer together, also allows people to experience more empathy and understanding and connection. And you know what? It also allows for another emotion forgiveness, acceptance, you know. So let's get into this, this one I'm wrong. Admitting fault isn't just about humility.

It's actually scientifically proven to be a healthy for relationships. A study by the University of California found that partners who admit to being wrong and offer sincere apologies are more likely to maintain long term successful relationships. It's about creating a culture of openness and trust. Think of it as the emotional equivalent of admitting. You need a GPS, a little help to navigate the complex road of relationships and full disclosure.

That's one that I still struggle to say, and it's probably just more so my stubbornness and my belief that I'm more right than wrong, which is wrong in itself. So you see, I'm getting better. Phrase two you're right. Psychologists from the University of Waterloo discovered that validation, like acknowledging when your partner is right, is crucial for maintaining a happy relationship. It's like scoring that overtime goal.

Exhilarating and affirming the simple acknowledgement can significantly boost your partner's self-esteem and the overall health of your relationship. It's not about keeping score, it's about valuing each other's perspectives. Phrase three this one's a big one, especially for Canadians, I'm sorry. This isn't just for the big mistakes. A study from Ohio State University shows that small, everyday apologies contribute significantly to relationship satisfaction.

They are like emergency tools in your relationship toolbox. Rare but also crucial, apologies can reduce stress and conflict, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding. It's about repairing harm and building a bridge back to each other. And then, finally, phrase four I love you. It's classic but vital, and, according to a study published in the journal Social and Personal Relationships, expressing love can significantly improve a partner's mood and reduce stress.

These three words, when heartfelt, are more than a statement. They're an affirmation of your bond. It's like a daily vitamin for your relationship, essential for its health and its vitality.
