## Transcript

Hey Champions, welcome back to the 2% solution, where we dive into the little things that make a big difference in our lives. I'm Dai Manuel, your coach and teammate on this journey to living fully. Today we're exploring a powerful concept becoming an athlete of life and how to honor yourself truly. Now you might wonder what does that even mean? Oh, it's all about adopting the mindset of an athlete dedication, resilience and self-care in every aspect of your life.

Let's dive into how this mindset can transform your world. So first I want to talk about the athlete of life mindset. Think about the qualities of great athletes. They have discipline, focus, perseverance and a constant drive to improve and get better. Now imagine applying those qualities to sports and every part of your life your career, relationships, personal growth and health.

That's what being an athlete of life is all about. It's commitment to pushing your limits, learning from failures and celebrating your victories, no matter how small they may seem. But here's a statistic that might surprise you. A study found that people who adopt a growth mindset essentially the core of an athlete's mindset is a growth mindset they're more likely to achieve their goals and overcome obstacles. This mindset is more significant predictor of success than IQ or talent.

That's right. Your attitude determines your altitude, as they say Now. Next, let's talk about honoring yourself, because this is crucial. My friends, being an athlete in life doesn't mean pushing yourself to the point of burnout. It means listening to your body, respecting your limits and knowing when to rest and recharge.

Honoring yourself is about self-compassion, nurturing mental and emotional health, as well as celebrating your efforts, not just your outcomes. Again, getting back to celebrating the wins Did you know that self-compassion can significantly reduce stress while also improving well-being? Literally, research shows that individuals who practice self-compassion experience lower levels of anxiety and depression. That's a game changer. It's not just about being tough.

It's about being wise and kind to yourself. Now, all this sounds great, but how to live as an athlete of life? How can you start living as an athlete of life and honor yourself in the process? Here are a few strategies to get you started. Number one clear goals.

Like an athlete, know what you're working towards. Make your goal specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound and yeah, for those that love the acronyms, that's smart goals. Number two embrace the challenges. View challenges as opportunities to grow. Remember, every setback is a set up for a comment.

Number three practice self-care. Prioritize your physical and mental health. This includes regular exercise, healthy eating, adequate sleep and mindfulness practices. Number four cultivate gratitude. Take time each day, reflect on what you're grateful for.

Gratitude can shift your focus from what you lack to the abundance that you already have. And number five seek feedback. Like athletes, have coaches, find mentors who can provide constructive feedback and support your growth journey. Being an athlete of life is a powerful framework for living fully and honoring yourself every step of the way. Remember, it's not about perfection, it's about progress.

It's about waking up each day to give your best, learn and grow, no matter what life throws your way. Thank you for joining me today on the 2% Solution. I'm Diamond Wall and I'm cheering you on as you become the ultimate athlete of your life. Keep pushing, keep growing and, most importantly, keep honoring the incredible person you are. I'll see you next time.
